Establishment OF BENE:

BEN-E as a network was conceived in 1998, and established in April 1999 as Basic Education Network Ethiopia (BEN-E) with a membership of 13 local NGOs and the support of two international non-governmental organizations . It stayed as BEN-E, unregistered with the Federal Ministry of Justice for more than five years. It was then registered in January 2004 as Basic Education Association in Ethiopia (BEA-E) without changing its vision and missions of establishment as a network.

Basic Education Network Ethiopia (BEN-E) has been re-registered as BEN-E as per the new Charities and Societies re-registration and administration proclamation in 2010. Written
